What I focus on:
Real, whole food
I started my health journey in my 20s, when my friend Ben told me what they did to battery farmed chickens. I was horrified and instantly gave up meat and poultry for 7 years. During this time I became fascinated about how our food is grown, produced and reared and got totally behind the organic movement, so much so that I opened and managed an organic store in London.
Fast forward 7 years and my first child, Rocco, was born. My interest in healthy eating and dealing with illnesses naturally continued to grow with this new and precious responsibility.
However, having a busy and stressful job as a producer and bringing up children was no easy feat, as many mothers know, and it takes its toll on your health. Vicious mood swings, exhaustion, constantly feeling overwhelmed, crying spells alternating with rages, feelings of hopelessness, insomnia and an inability to cope started to become the way I operated a lot of the time.
A few years after my second son, Zeph, was born I decided I had to step back from my stressful life and take a long, hard look at what was going on because I didn’t believe or accept that, as a woman in my early 40s, I should be feeling as rubbish as I was.
I never looked back.
My love for healthy cooking blossomed once I put work on the backburner and became a full time mum. I read, researched, listened to endless webinars on being healthy and tried things out. Eventually, I cooked a couple of very successful detox programs within the community where I live.
During all of my explorations, I came across the Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® course. I signed up immediately because looking for the root causes of health symptoms really resonated with me and my situation... and I loved the idea of becoming a health detective.
I went through the FDN step-by-step program myself, as part of the course and discovered that I had beaten up adrenals, the hormones of a post-menopausal woman, as well as a hidden gut bacteria H.pylori. Since then, I have reversed my fatigue and mood swings, have new found purpose in my life and have finally got a bounce back in my step that I thought was lost forever.
I also became certified as a Health Coach as well as graduating as a Nutritional Therapist after 3 years training at the College of Naturopathic Medicine. I use a combination of all my skills to enable clients to reach their health goals in manageable steps that are tailored to each persons' life.
In May 2016, the universe introduced me to doTERRA essential oils and I am now an every day user of these oils within my home. I continue to be hugely impressed with their ability to support a natural health regime. These are a mainstay in our house to give our health and immune systems support, to allow us to live a no-tox life (at least within our home) and I share and educate about these oils regularly.
I feel honoured to share my experience and knowledge with anyone who is sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. I can help you to get healthier and feel like yourself again - feeling energetic and vibrantly healthy once more.
